There are no degrees or certificates available in North American taiko, but I’ve studied with some of the most recognized artists and teachers in the world, including:

• Tiffany Tamaribuchi, founder and director of the Sacramento Taiko Dan

• Members of KODO

• Seiichi Tanaka, the man recognized as the Father of North American taiko and recipient of the 2001 NEA National Heritage Fellowship

and many others. I’ve appeared in hundreds of live performances including collaborative shows with OTO Dance, Flam Chen Pyrotechnic Circus Arts, and appearances in Canada and the UK.

Current projects include Taiko SOBA, Queer Taiko, Jun Daiko, and Mukaro Taiko, an ensemble that explores taiko and movement for powerful musical expression.
